My tires are on their last legs too. Trying to decide between RS4's, RE71R's or AD08R's
Depends on what you are doing with the wheels/tires I guess. For me, I'm not tracking anymore so I don't need a super aggressive tire. Also, driving to North Carolina means I don't want to drive myself nuts listening to road noise, especially over paint. I loved my RE-11a's. I had a set on track wheels, a set on the Volks. I wish they didn't discontinue them. I looked at RE71r's as well but for long drives, I think they would drive me nuts. The new Continental's are what i'm 99% sure i'll be putting on the new wheels.
...once i actually open the box and get the wheels out. lol
Tell me more!!! (I'm living vicariously through other people's overseas travels until I'm in good enough shape to do that again.)
Also, yay for no LAX!
We're going to Patagonia for a week long hiking/camping thing, and exploring the rest of Chile a little bit, 2 weeks total around Xmas. The Xmas factor is going to end up costing us a lot of money but it's the only time of the year we can really take 2 full weeks off. I'm really annoyed because AMX had LAX-MEX-SCL-MEX-LAX in business class (all 787s) for $1900 R/T a while back, but one of the people wanted to do some ****ing wine tasting in Argentina so we were going to maybe fly into Buenos Aires instead of Santiago... a few weeks later we realized that Chile's wine is the same as Argentina's wine, more or less, so SCL it is. And the $1900 fares are now $3200.
I was pushing for a side excursion to Easter Island, since the only flights there leave from SCL, but lost out. I'm going with 5 women, so I'm just going to assume I'm going to lose out on every decision.
