It is still possible to make gloob when there is sand present, but believe me, you need to be really careful that the sand doesn't come in contact with the gloob making utensils, otherwise things can get quite painful !!!!

When banks originally started paying interest on savings deposits they paid simple interest: you would earn interest on your deposit, but not interest on your accumulated interest. After a while clients realized that the interest in their accounts wasn't "working" for them, so they began to adopt an interesting strategy. When the interest was posted to an account, the account holder would close the account, receive his principle and interest, and open a new account with the new total; because all the money in this new account was deposited by the account holder, he would receive interest on the entire amount, thus compounding his interest. Eventually the banks were overrun with people closing then reopening accounts and they had no time to conduct the money-making portion of their business: lending. So, to put a stop to the silliness, banks began to pay compound interest.

not according to my AP bio teacher. The appendix is supposed to be the remnant of a second branch of your intestines. Once upon a time our ancestors were herbivores, which meant we needed a way to get more nutrients out of our food before it passed through our bodies. Our ancestors had an appendix because the nutrients gained was worth the risk of infection of the appendix (which is at risk because it branches off and doesn't flush out). For example, I believe sheep have rather large appendixes...
