jedwards and chazmo in beantown!
So who mounts and balances them for you when you get them from Tirerack? I was thinking about doing this but twas wondering if they would be salty since most likely wherever I go could have sold me the tires??
Mike, good point, but the tire shop does get labor costs...
I've ordered many sets of tires from Tire Rack, and then had them mounted/balanced locally. We have a place called NTB which has always been good (and they have Hunter equipment for alignments, which I think is the way to go).
Luke, when you bring your quote to Americas Tire, do they add in shipping costs to come up wtih your total bill? If not, then you're gettin' a deal, dude!
John, yeah, my front wear was abnormal due to the toe. Floating around the s2ki board, though, I'm not the only one with poor alignment from the factory. Guess I'd say it's a recommendation for anyone changing tires. Alignment is a pretty worthwhile $70 or so...

That's a great approach Luke and I know that other tire manufacturers will do this as well. I might go this route next time.
Tire Rack has a number of tire shops they will work with that will mount and balance. I was happy with the folks near me.
The reason I m thinking of doing it the way you do Luke is so that whoever I go with will cover my tires in case of puncture or whatever. I thought I had a puncture (I didn't) and no one would cover me for free service... they would have if I'd bought them there.
In fact BTW they helped me for free anyway.
