Jen I'm sorry to hear about your loss, these things are never easy. Just take care in knowing that you always have memories, and no one can take those from you.
People fly everyday, you just have to try to focus on the fact that it's not a big deal. The more you build it up in your head, the more anxious you'll feel. Think about your grandmother instead of your fear....the whole ordeal will be over before you know it! And buy yourself a new car magazine when you get to the airport....I know that always gets my attention.
I'll pray for safe flights for you

yeah, buy the new Car and Driver, it has a great comparo with the S2000.
Funny thought:
I've worked in the aviation industry for almost 15 years now, and I can honestly say that I'm scared to death of flying!

flying is like riding in a bus because it's fun guessing if the driver is drunk or not.
(no wait. thats not encouraging)
flying is like riding in a bus because that fat guy sitting on your right is still annoying, awake or asleep.
--seriously, sorry for your loss. i hope it goes as smooth as these things can go

Also watch the silly slapstick Airplane movie before you go! Then when they make the silly announcements you can say to yourself...go backa sitdowna!!

I've always wondered how the flight attendant can welcome you to a place when they're just getting there, too? Also, when they ask you to look for any items you MIGHT have brought on board?!?! Wouldn't it make more sense to just look for the stuff you KNOW you brought on board?!

Jen - I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. It's too bad that you also have to deal with flying at the same time. I work 5 minutes from BWI, so let me know if I can be of help.
I've got a couple of suggestions for dealing with the anxiety:
1. but the flight is short and you probably don't want to be tanked for the rest of the night.
2. Eat lots of Mexican Food for lunch. You'll be so embarrassed from all the tooting that you won't have time to think about the flight
Hang in there and let me know if I can lend a hand.

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother Jen.
You'll be okay on the flight. Tip maybe... buy a super scary book or DVD in the order of "28 days later" (too bad it's not on DVD)
You'll be so distracted by it you won't be worried about the flight.... spy novels or sexy stuf also works.
