Justifiable Homicide
My modem begin acting up thursday. I was dropping connections every 5-15 minutes, experiencing major packet loss when I was connected, my friends couldn't get in to me at all (FTP/ping/etc), and in general not having much of a connection. I put up with it until Sunday, when I finally called tech support. After 5 phone calls totalling about 2 hours, the best the techs could come up with was that my modem was going
. They scheduled an appointment today, sometime between 1 and 5 PM

Today rolls around, I skipped my lunch and took a 1/2 day so I could be here at 1. No sign of the comcast guy, but my modem seemed to be better. The packet loss was gone, I was staying connected, and my friends had no trouble FTPing and pinging me. I
ed a bit, and cleaned a bit, and ate, and generally
ed off. At 4:30, I finally decided to call and see if/when a guy was showing up. I called in, and their appointment verification was down
. I got a person, gave her my name and number, and she tells me that my appointment was canceled yesterday!
I asked her why it was canceled, she replied "There was a service outage in your area, which was fixed". I asked why they didn't tell me that, and she replies "well, we usually call". YOU DIDN'T CALL ME, BITCH!
The local customer service department also only works 9-3, give or take, so it's nearly impossible to talk with anyone who is useful.
