I've got mine coming up next month too.

 

Here's a pic from earlier in the year. It's one of my favorite drives, unfortunately it only lasts about 5 minutes but it's 2nd gear almost all the way to the top accept for a couple of fierce switchbacks which need first gear. I'll have to take some better pictures next time I go drive up there.

 

Thanks for the pic. I love the fact that you can still get Silverstone in Aus. Can't here anymore and I like it (sorry) better than the new Silver.

What hill/mtn is that and where am I looking.

The scenery is pretty much like you saw in the photos. The grass is all golden but quite alive... it's just savanna grass and goes that way about May. The trees are scrubby old tough little oaks. (My buddy says they remind him of me )

Switchbacks galor as you can see. The good folks will pull aside for the faster cars. The day before yesterday I was behind a Merc 500SL and we were both behind a Passat. The Passat pulled aside and the Merc roared off giving me a lesson in mtn driving... He pulled aside for me after 3 or 4 turns.

 

Oh yeah... nothing much for my B-day. Going to wine country for tasting. The big treat for me is my son coming home. DOn't tell him I said that though... it'll go to his head.

Have a great time with your son. I miss the Cali roads, for sure. That stuff through the mountains is great! Hard to find anything quite like that where I am, but I keep trying!

Great news Jack. Thanks for passing it along. BTW... The pics show the rollbar in black even with the red but I don't think this is so. The interior 360 view shows blue int with blue rollbars. We'll have to see.
