is leasing an s2000 wicked smaht or wicked dum
no worries TX
I'm so used to getting into tangles in s2k talk, I get bent real easy, sorry.
Cars are definately a money pit, and for a leaser you are right on the money. I leased my last car and I hated that it wasn't MINE. speaking for myself, posession is a big part of ownership, even though my car will never bring back my money at least I HAVE the car.... I do however think for certain people leases are the way go. My wife travels all over socal and to keep her in a new car with full maintenance is a big deal. I never worry about her breaking down, and if she does, she gets a loaner, and the royal treatment for repairs. When you look at it like a "service" that way, it's really a great thing. Like having a monthly payment to never worry about transportation ever again...... peace of mind. That is something I had to decide when I bought this car, but the grass is always greener as they say
cars just arent investments, I also don't want to sound misleading, I hope I explained my slant
cheers!

one more thing to throw in,
If you're self-employed, talk to your accountant about leasing as leasing is 100% tax deductable. Buying, as far as I know, is not tax deductable. In the example of the S2000 you can subtract (guestimate) $5000/yr from your taxable income.
If you plan to own this car anyway then do a 5 or 6 year lease so the value is as low as possible (and use as much tax deduction as possible) then exercise your option to buy the car at the lease's end.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this (just following whore rules)....but another advantage to ownership is....You can do whatever the hell you want with the car in terms of mods....I suppose you could mod a leased car as well....but then you would be forced to reconvert ($$$) at the end of your lease...I guess a bone stock S2k is OK for some...although I think I would get bored, eventually...

You can't mod the car
you can't drive it a lot or they'll stick you for milage (BIG charges)
Now, if you plan not to mod it, and just drive it around ie. not going on organized drives, etc....then leasing might be for you
Thanks for the clarification Zoe...I thought the guy was doing his best Good Will Hunting impression.
