Now you're getting to the heart of the matter, Jason. For the US government is indeed one given to plutocracy.

Then sell your S2000.

Walk to work.

Or just move.

You are correct, Dave, I am one big hypocrite. Never should I have made the American people dependent upon automobiles. Never should I have, for example, tore up Los Angeles' highly efficient Red Car system of trolly cars. Now some of us are under the impression that that was accomplished by GoodYear Tire & Rubber, General Motors and their political handmaiden Sam Yority (mayor of Los Angeles [1964-1972]), but, yeah, Dave, it was me.
Walk to work. Wow! What a comeback.

Peace with social justice.

Your popular/capitalist culture-induced "understanding" of socialism, though certainly quaint, is, at the same time, no less inaccurate, Dave.

Oooo Ooo, can we include NASCAR as an opponent, and make F1 the motorsport of the cultural revolution? Pleeeeeaaaase?!?!??!

Spoken like a...middle-class member of the proletariat.
To understand the term "proletariat" is to understand that so, too, does it mean "working-class" or, collectively, those members of a given society who own no amount of that society's means of industrial/economic production. Ergo, since I own no amount of this society's means of production and therefore must sell my labor power and or my intellectual power to one capitalist or another - one master or another in order to assure my very survival and that of my dear ones, the phrase member of the proletariat describes me quite perfectly, no?
So much for your laughing-out-loud emoticon.

But, 8D, socialist society would not be interested in cultural revolution (read: China is not and never has been representative of socialist society) any more than it would be interested in individuals selling their automobiles and other personal possessions in order for them to be "true socialist[s]."

Please understand, 8D, that contrary to what you have been conditioned into believing you, sir or madam, know nothing of the social science known as revolutionary socialism. To gain such knowledge, one must turn to ORIGINAL sources of Marxist literature - the lifeworks of Dr. Karl Heinrich Marx, Frederick Engels, and, to a lesser though no less important extent, Daniel DeLeon.
Now I for one would never foretell of your becoming a socialist in the wake of your having engaged in such a study, it is just that you would then seem much less foolish whilst engaging a studied socialist such as myself.

Good day.
