LOS ANGELES, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Spinning the wheels of imagination for a genre that has created an entire generation of voyeurs, New York-based Silhouette Productions has announced the start of principal photography in Los Angeles on an audacious pay-per-view reality series, "Can You Be A Porn Star?" The first of seven one-hour shows will be broadcast by iN DEMAND Networks and likely other soon-to-be-announced PPV outlets on Thursday, January 8, with new episodes airing every other Thursday climaxing with a 90-minute grand finale.

A natural evolution of MTV's "Real World," "Paradise Hotel" and "Temptation Island," "Can You Be A Porn Star?" is the first reality show to push the content limits of the adult film business with uninhibited nudity and sizzling sexuality. The show will feature 28 finalists selected from thousands of submissions and live auditions in New York, Washington, DC, Miami, Chicago, Houston, Denver, Las Vegas, Portland and Seattle. In each episode, four women arrive at a house in L.A., which serves as home base for a gauntlet of interviews, photo shoots, challenges and surprises. Whether in the house or out-on-the-town, each contestant will be individually assessed in such areas as imagination, initiative, experimentation and enthusiasm by a panel of judges, all well-respected figures in the areas of entertainment.
The series will also be highly interactive, with viewers voting for their favorites via the internet following each episode, and having the opportunity to interact with finalists through a 900 number. Through the official website, www.canyoubeapornstar.com, audiences will also be able to view audition tapes as well as exclusive and behind-the-scenes footage from the program. Viewers will help narrow the field of 28 contestants to eight, then to a single winner who earns an initial one-year contract with a major adult video distributor and a cash prize of $100,000 -- the largest amount ever offered in the adult entertainment field for a new talent, including the popular Jenna Jameson.
