Good point .....

This one works fine ... sometimes. Other times it just won't turn on, and other other times the CPU seems to be working at 100% whether you are using any software or not

I'm glad I don't work in IT !!!!

Do you run google desktop, James? I used to have that 100% utilization problem with my old laptop. My new one is fast enough that google doesn't seem to hurt it.

No I don't use google desk top .... I have pretty much taken all unneccessary software off, to try to stop the utilisation problems ... but to no effect and I have done many virus checks as well ....

S2Ki causes that on my computer sometimes.

I'm not kidding either. If you run the task manager, you'll see what process is using all the CPU. In my case, it's almost always the Internet Explorer window S2Ki is loaded in.
