A BOTANY degree??? Anne Marie was teaching K through 3 English as a Second Language in the Barrio when I met her. When I sold my first company to Jacobs Engineering she said "I'm tired of dealing with @#$%^& rug rats. I'm going to computer school!"

Thanks for the bit of nostalgia!

Years ago I built the Heathkit H8 computer which blew the TRS-80 out of the water when hot rodded with a Z80 CPU running at 4MHz.

It used a separate terminal (monitor/keyboard) connected with a RS-232 (serial) connection. The computer started with four (4) kilobytes of static RAM and to run BASIC required 8K. I recall the additional 4K of RAM cost well over $100. Not sure my calculator has enough digits to project that cost to the 16G of ram in the laptop I'm typing on this morning.

I grabbed the photo off the web this morning. Sold mine years ago to a collector.
