1. Its still light outside.
2. 24 plums are worth 16 apples. It takes only 2/3rds the number of apples to equal in value 3/3rds the number of plums. If 3/3rds the number of plums equals 24, then 2/3rds of that number is 16.
3. 37 days. At the end of day one the worm would be at the one meter mark. At the end of the 35th day the worm would be at the 35 meter mark. On the 36th day the worm travels from 35 meters to 39 meters but slips back to 36 meters at the end of the 36th day. The other problem facing the rabbit was that the lettuce was too large to push through the fence. How could the rabbit manage to eat the lettuce and still be able to escape?
4. Sid Shady asked his wife to accompany him to a war movie being featured that night. He then took her out of the theater without anyone trying to stop him. Why not?
5. It was in a major leage baseball game that a pitcher faced only 27 batters. Every batter he faced, he struck out. He allowed no hits and no runs. His team lost 4-0. How could this be possible?
