For the first time, US media actually reported on the election, and the only positive they can spin about Harper winning is that relations with the Bush white house will improve. Now there is something to cheer for.

Of course, the NDP and Liberals still have more votes combined, so there's a chance Canada won't be legislated into a shithole like we are.

If they had been following the election at all in the last couple weeks, the results shouldn't have been surprising.

I made my first attempt at voting strategically instead of with my conscience. It was close in my riding, but we've gone Conservative. Same goes for the riding I work in.

Stregic voting obviously didn't play into most people's minds. The NDP got a good percentage of the gross vote but very few seats. Not saying people should have voted Liberal just to stop the tories, but in a sense voting NDP actually gave the conservatives a lot of districts (Ridings? WTF does that mean?) that the Liberals may have won.

Lets not worry about it much because it is another minority government that will be overthrown in a matter of months.....

Such rubbish.

But it is a good thing that Harper is probably a closer friend to our Southern friends then the Liberals. The wrong message was delivered over and over to you guys IMO.
