finance and fiance

cansado (tired) and casado (married)

along the same lines, I travel to the Philippines often, and in their language (Tagalog), they have the following word:

"mahal"

it has two meanings:
1) expensive
2) sweetheart

coincidence?

 

i think not

 

who cares really?

 

when you've dated a mahal mahal, you care.

 

whats a mahal mahal.....never mind....

"mahal mahal" = expensive sweetheart. basically a high-maintenance girlfriend; somebody who expects a lot of money to be spent on her. generally once I figure that out, they're out.
