I'm unsure of the protocol but I think you're supposed to ask the groom-to-be to ask the bride-to-be what you're supposed to wear. But that would be way too simple.

Your most important responsibility as a groomsman is to make sure you do the dick dance at the appointed time to break up the reception so the cleanup crew can start on time.
