I told that story again today....
"Funny story came out of that. My brother wanted to drive the car but wanted to wait 'til we were out of LA. In Santa Clarita we grabbed some food and he took the wheel. No sooner had we gotten on the highway but you guys passed us (going fast). We had the top down.
He has a MazdaSpeed Protege and drives well but he hadn't been driving the S for more than 5 minutes. Nonetheless he said, "Want to keep up with those guys (you)?" I said "sure whatever". So he took off after you.
We chased along, caught up drove with you for a while and then he said, "that's enough." Soon we pulled over and put the top up; you remember how hot it was.
After we got on the road again we get going about 80 and he looks over at me with a shit-eating grin. He goes faster and faster and soon he goes over 100. He got to about 104 and backed off laughing. He asked me, "do you know what I was doing?".
I said, "Of course but I don't know why?". He said just to get to 100 that's all.
I said to him, "you have no fecking idea do you?... you were going 127 when you were following those other S's!!"
His look told me he had NO idea.
He did compliment the car at how smooth it feels at
