I definitely would get it at B & H especially since I work in NYC and B & H is so convenient for me. I was thinkig getting the 1.4 but the price point of the 1.8 is so appealing. The one thing Costco has going for it is the no questions asked refund policy. I've never had to take anything back to B & H so I don't know what their policy is.
I actually have the import version of the 50mm f/1.8 and I've had 0 problems with it.
