I think some of the stuff they do with electronics on Pimp My Ride is cool...but my problem with it is that in a lot of circumstances, the car may have $30000 worth of pimposity ( there's one for ya! ), with a motor worth $400 on a good day to haul it around. A couple of times I have seen them replace the engine...but typically it was only because the car died in transit on the way to the shop.

I'd like the show Rides if Priestley could do more of his narration without sounding like the "SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!" guy from a monster truck rally. I like Overhaulin'...because it's what my dad does...and they do the WHOLE car...inside and out with a helluva lot more taste than the Pimp My Ride fellas. I could live without the guy host...and I could stare at the female host for hours...she can say whatever she wants...I'm not listening.

Of all the shows in this category I'd have to say my two favorites are American Chopper and American Hot Rod. The guy who work for Boyd are just naturally entertaining characters, and OCC alway reminds me why I don't work for my dad.

 

That Teutel family at OCC is a friggin' riot!

 

WCC does some cool things though aside from the Pimp My Ride show.. I was watching Rides once and they had all these athletes/celebrities going to WCC to get some work done, it looks like they can do anything.. and quality work to boot.. Probably expensive though..

I've only seen one Pimp my Ride, and it was the one with the old white Cadillac for that girl.. Then they coloured it Cherry Pink or something and put in a lot of cool gadgets.. It doesn't reflect what they could truly do because they're probably on some type of budget, but still, pretty sweet deal for someone owning a beater.
