the Pit Orchestra Experience
well, now for the mushy stuff.
at the beginning i had my reservations, as I always do, if you looked at the practice schedule, you would too, 50 in about 1 and a half weeks. and about 10-15 hours in performance and waiting time. but during that time i learned a lot, and made some friends. kinda like camp except you get to go home everyday. and all these guys are world class musicians, the best 1-2 people of that instrument in the school. it's hard that i am a freshman playing with juniors and seniors, but it helped that i knew most of them from past experiences. they are all really cool people, and every gets along. and it's fun working with the people in the musical, dancing and singing along, listening to the cheesy jokes while we're playing and giggling. i know this happens every year but we only get to work with this specific group of people once in our lifetime. the seniors (the majority of the people) are leaving and some people might not do it again. the people make the musical, and all the people who try out are awesome people. i remember when i was a little kid and i would go to the matinee to watch people perform and i would go giddy over how good the pit orchestra is. low and behold im in it now. i miss working and talking with the old geezers and geezettes and how good the orchestra was. i'm not going to be modest, but we sound professional. haha people come up to the conductor and seriously ask how much it cost to rent such a good orchestra, and people don't believe it when he says, "they are just high school students." but stilll.. all those good things and i still miss the people i met and watched for so long. annie get your gun was an awesome musical and i'd do it again anyday.
cliff notes for the
ming lazy people
musical rocked, people rocked, orchestra rocked
but i miss all the people i've met and watched
but after all this depression of the muscical actually ending, i'd do it again.

"is it loaded"
