Started in 5th grade with the clarinet & as part of music ed training I learned all of the orchestral instruments, voice & piano. Then I picked up a little guitar on my own but my singing sucks so I guess my rock career is over.

Oboe is fun, you just have to watch out for those double reeds (single reeds on the clar are bad enough).

Horn!!!

George, nice pix! I've never done "Annie Get Your Gun." Unfortunately, I have done "Annie" (good riddance) .

As for the post-show letdown... I know exactly what you mean. That's part of the game. You get close with everyone, and then it ends. Don't dwell on it. I've felt that way many times during community theatre productions I've done over the years. Many of the friendships will endure, and besides... it's one of the best way to meet babes!!

It really is a fun musical.. it's a bit more fun to watch than last year's Music Man.. I don't know if the Annie get your gun on DVD is more fun to watch than our high school production (lots of jokes, and people putting their individualality into the play), but I've seen Damn Yankees on video and it was pretty boring to say the least.

I pretty much have a commitment of doing the pit for the next 3 years now since I do this as a freshman, unless I try out to act in the musical

Yeah it really is a letdown.. But it's kind reassuring to know that lots of people that did the musical are feeling the same way..

I saw it as kind of a job that I had to do for the musical to be successful, but until the performances, I didn't think I'd miss it... we really had fun during the performances, that and we know musical by heart.. my lone freshman friend in the pit was just reciting whole sections/acts to me today after class... so funny..

Hey talk about discrimination!

Why is the clarinet $20/month? Is the horn free?

But seriously, horn's a cool instrument, play it well & everyone'll be after you!
