Wow, that's horrible when that happens.
I think airshows are important public relations tools. I think the military should always get involved w/ the public in as many ways as possible. Afterall, we're paying for that stuff!
I think that helps keep both parties (public & military) in a kind of responsible state of mind. Afterall, both entities need each other (now more than ever).

No, the next one is Edwards AFB in October -- a biggie. Last year was cancelled after 9/11. The year before we saw a B1, B2, and B52 fly in tight formation. F15 and F16, same thing. The year before that we saw the public flying debut of the new F22 Raptor next generation stealth/air superiority fighter. With thrust vectoring (variable pitch turbine exhaust nozzles), it made its F18 Hornet chase plane look like a beer truck. A little over a month later, I got my black S, which I promptly named The Raptor. On the board, I am named after my car. Who else do you know who is named after his/her car?
