There are good people at Ford. They tend to get their valuable opinions and knowledge beaten to a pulp by beancounters, seagull managers, and general bureaucracy.

The same is true of GM, Chrysler (which gets doubled due to Daimler), and my company... and most other big companies in the US, I'm guessing.

It's pretty rare to get your MSME and PHD without being a TA at some point... I was just not that far behind him (first year Masters students TA fresh classes, second year students TA soph/junior classes, and PHD students TA junior/senior classes).

Easier said than done, Chazmo. Automakers and most of the tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers are all 'big business' that has the same general afflictions. If that's where you want to be working, you're somewhat SOL.
