Right now the truck driver that delivered our catalog shipment was lamenting about the trucks today... and how computer controlled they are...the drivers used to be able to duct tape bypass the governors on them and he cant do it anymore D

[QUOTE=WestSideBilly,Mar 2 2005, 05:22 PM] Right now I totally understand.

but now, even working at an engineeing facility, the majority of people I encounter just don't get into it - either because they're not geeks, not technically minded, or are more interested in American Idol than cars.

Music doesn't really work for me; I really am into nearly everything but I'm not much of a conniseur.

Right now I'm taking a break from boxing 1:18 scale cars. I got 35 done, I need to wash my 1:1 scale car and run to the post office. Peace!

Right now, I'm hurling chunks that Billy boy stooped to watching that stupid show....

As long as it was for a good cause, I guess.
I was bordering on hurling chunks on Monday, too. I thought she was worth the anguish, but I was wrong.

Jeff, so much of your post sounds like me.

Since when did The Apprentice become the thing to talk about at the watercooler over last night's game. A couple months ago my boss actually starts a shoot the shit IN MY OFFICE with someone about the apprentice. I quickly ended that. I seriously told him . . . . "I'm getting stupider just hearing this in the background while I surf the internet -- change the subject or leave my office!"

I am the same way with music. I have all but 1 of Garth's albums. People see my CD collection (about 1000 or so) and wonder who's 50 Cent CD was thrown in next my Wagner classical CD. I have a very wide range from AC/DC to Jay Z
Right now, the radio station I wake up to now has two morning DJs who live for reality shows... they spend ~10 minutes between 6 and 7 every day going over what happened on the reality shows the night before - who got cut, who was good, whatever. Sound clips and everything. It really doesn't make sense because the people who give a damn watched/recorded/TiVoed the show, the rest of us would rather here a song or two.

Sadly, this station is much better than the rest of the shit we have around here... they play about 10 songs an hour in the morning, vs 3-4 for most stations. I'm not exaggerating on those numbers, either.

Right now the manufacturers don't like it all that much either... we're at the mercy of Caterpillar and Cummins for functional engines...

We (International) is getting back into the big bore biz shortly... so we may finally have actual control over some of that shit... but the driver still won't be able to override the governor

Right now, the ex-governor of New Jersey wouldn't mind.
