right now, the TSX is a great car, kind of in an odd place with it's price and performance though. For the money, I'd be more interested in an IS300 (not to mention the service that comes with owning a lexus). That said, the TSX and IS300 are classes above the Fit and probably more than you're looking to spend on a beater

Right now it's a very tough decision. My car guy side says "Jason, you can afford that TSX. Do you really want an econo-car? You tend to keep your car for a long time, might as well get something your really really like." but my practical side says "hey dickhead, you already have an S2000. What are you trying to prove? Why spend more money on something that will just depreciate? Why not put that extra money into your house or into a mutual fund?" I will check out the IS300 though if I do decide the TSX is a serious contender. I like the fact the Lex is RWD and I love the interior and the "Swatch" style guages. But I really like the clean understated exterior styling of the TSX.

Right now I'm also considering the RSX Type S. Whatever it is, my next car will be a Honda/Acura, Toyota/Lexus or a Subaru. Reliability is second only to performance for me. I don't want another car that has a bunch of issues.

right now, used rsx-s's should be relatively cheap now similar to the rsx, you should be able to pick up a nice ep3 for around $12k. The thing about the rsx/ep3 is that you're scaling down performance and picking up practicality (my car is probably as loud inside on the freeway as an S, the suspension doesn't *feel* a whole lot softer and it sure isn't the best in traffic). The same thing happens with the TSX/IS300, but you pick up luxury, which is very very nice on the boring A to B drives such as commuting to work.

If I was in your shoes, I'd wait it out a bit and see if I could swing an IS300.

Right now one nice thing about the RSX is that it can, believe it or not, tow a trailer. I know the Fit can't (at least it's not recommended though it probably could.) I would like something that can tow a small utility trailer to make home improvement projects easier. I wouldn't tow more than 5-600 lbs. including the trailer. The RSX can tow up to 1,000. Really timing will be the biggest deciding factor. If the Chevy dies tomorrow, I will probably get a used RSX, an EP3 or maybe the Fit. But if the car can hold on another year or so, I may opt for the TSX or IS300.

Right now the Chevy still runs well. I'm concerned about how it will do when the weather gets warmer but when it gets really warm, I normally just leave it behind and drive the S anyways. Plus with my close proximity to work, I probably only drive the Chevy about 400 miles a month.

Right now most hatches can't swallow 4'x8' sheets of OSB and can't handle a rototiller or lawn dethatcher.
