Right now I've been carrying since I was in high school.
right now that's not quite the point- do you think, nation wide, that people age 21-25 are mature and intelligent enough to safely carry? I'm not talking about individual examples or groups (like military personnel) or saying we should raise the legal age to carry to 26- on a whole, do you think it's a good idea for that age group to carry guns with them?

a bit of context, simplified- someone on the other forum complained about not being able to carry on the Seattle UW campus. I said I feel safer knowing that so many 21-25 year olds around me aren't carrying...and it went from there.

Right now, I don't think I'd entrust most 21-25 year olds with a squirt gun, much less a real weapon.

Right now... context... you don't just hand anyone a firearm without at least a little instruction and understanding of the responsibility and such. From my experience, I prefer locations where the assumption is that everyone is carrying. A lot more respect gets shown... and I personally know guys who were the type to pick fights very easily. Once they started carrying their attitude changed 180 as they realized the new power/responsibility they now have and must control.

In college carrying a handgun should be mandatory. It's our 2nd amendment. That's only number two right behind amendment number one freedom of religion.

Right now, Ken may not enjoy a potential 5-4 ruling coming up in the Court.

so given that say, a solid 80% of the students age 21-25 roaming the UW campus can go, purchase a pistol and acquire a license to carry it with virtually zero training- would you be more comfortable on campus with or without the concealed weapons?

there is no issue of rights or what should/shouldn't happen here, simply are you comfortable with thousands of people that age carrying guns on that campus.

I wouldn't worry much about large scale violence on campus... but I can see a LOT of problems in the periphery of campus life (i.e. nearby frat houses, shopping areas, etc).
