Wait till she hits the warmer inshore waters....

I find it funny how Congressional Republicans are starting to feel the heat and are running from the Bush administration the way rats run away from a sinking ship....on fire....full of gun powder.
Did anyone watch The Daily Show last night? It was great...they actually brought up Bush's fiscal responsibility. My favorite was the description of Bush-made budgets using a "faith-based accounting system"

Looks like the east (and worst) side of Rita might hit Lafayette. We'll at leat get tropical storm force winds and a bunch of rain. We might be evacuating, not sure yet. Will decide in the next 24 hours.

Good luck Pope!

There are more warm waters between her and landfall but the inshore waters are actually *cooler* water temp maps are online. Let me look.
You can pluck some water temps from the buoy data links I posted above.
Good luck Pope.
Do the smart thing and evacuate if you should. I have an acquaintance who lives between Houston and galveston and he's staying... with his wife and two kids.
Just stupid.
