At the auto show I asked the Mustang guard (they had it roped off) if I could pop the hood and run my finger on the A/C lines ......I said it with a ....he knew what I was hinting at and he wasnt amused!

 

The auto-show lady was pretty hot so i didn't care too much about the car .

 

standard from the factory no less....

 

One day my local mechanic had 5 fords on his lot...(taurus, Rustang, etc) he showed me how each one had bad A/C seals in the same spot

 

I think the Boxster is ugly and I don't like the S2200...so I chose . I would buy an older S2000 though.

 

If someone were to give me a Boxter-S I'd be quite happy. They are a formidable sports car.

OTOH I've always done very well against the Boxter S's at the track and given the huge price, I'd say I'd buy an S2000 again.

My initial decision to buy a sports car included the Boxter and Boxter-S in the fray. I opted then for the S2000 for the reasons above. I might also add that the ubiquity of the Boxter is a negative as well.

Luke, you really dislike the '04? I don't like the bass mouth, but otherwise I think it's OK.

Charlie...I absolutely love the sound of the 9000 RPMs....wouldn't trade it even for torque. I don't like the front end of the '04 either...or the metal accents like the stereo cover. I also like that the old S2000 was twitchy...to me that part of why the car is fun to drive...the challenge. I was really displeased that Honda went with the '04 after touting that the S2000 was for the extreme niche market. If people want a Z3 they should have to buy a BMW.

Let me clarify a bit...I'd only buy a '00 or '01 S2000. I don't even like what they did on the '02 or '03. I don't like all the metal/chrome accents and the bigger H badges. The only downfall is the glass window which I have already taken care of.
