good question. a stock ap1 should be able to (relatively) cruise past 140mph. on the elise side of things, I know that it can hit 135mph on the front straight of pacific raceways with no problem (that was even with a passenger). beyond 145-150mph I'm really not sure how the elise would do any input J?

For sure it can. If you read back (but that's not a whorish thing to do! ) you'll see several have reached speeds exceeding that.

I don't think the Lotus can go as fast as the S. I don't know for sure but that's my belief. What I do think is that it can sustain speed in a corner better. Again it's hard to know how the cars will perform on that particular oval but we can speculate.

While I'm not sure the S could sustain top speed around the whole track (in fact I doubt it) this may be something the Lotus could do. It would make for an interesting contest.

Other factors balance one another out... tire about equal, gas mileage better but tank smaller. One thing I'd worry about a bit is the Lotus overheating. The S1 (made 'til 2004) had problems in this area. The S2 Federal (model sold in US) seems to have overcome this but at top speed... who knows?

That HP meter is awesome. Do all Veyron's make 1001 hp though? I'd think there's some level of variance from engine to engine.

I guess they make a different gauge for each car.

It doesn't measure HP directly. It's just a measure of RPM, fuel, and MAF readings.

It's neat that the first key opens up 500 hp. You need to put in a second key to get 501 more.
