S2000 tire physics question... need an answer.
This is exactly the same issue with the spare tire doughnut, and why you're not supposed to use it in the rear. The diameter difference would be much greater with the doughnut than with a worn vs. new tire, but the principle is the same. Yup, like Jeff says, different diameters are not good for the Torsen LSD (probably any LSD for that matter, though I wonder if electronically controlled diffs are smarter)

If a tire blows in da woodz do you hear it go pop?
That's Philosophy not Physics. Get it straight, would ya'?

The answer, by the way, is "You, the tire, and the woods are a creation of my infinite mind, and therefore whether or not you hear the tire go pop, whether or not the tire even exists, is entirely in my mind."

Well at LEAST you knew da answer
See, G, I'm a fountain of useless crap!
J, truth is, I didn't know about the diff. issue with the spare until I read about it on s2ki. Sometimes trolling the mysterious mist of the board does have some value.
