That does assume that you were drinking bottled beer however.....

The counter "pon" is used for tall thin objects, such as bottles etc.
The counter for a glass of drink would be "pai" so if you were drinking draft beer (nama biru) you would ask for "mo ippai"
To avoid the confusion of these different "counters" you can go for the all encompassing "mo hitotsu" however the counters hitotsu, futatsu, mittsu etc. only go up to 10, after that you have to use the "pon" or "pai" counters.
Confused yet?
Well if you aren't here is the clincher for confusion .......
If you want a glass of beer you ask for "mo ippai" however if you want an EMPTY glass, you ask for "mo ippon"!!!!!!
Japanese what an easy language to master

Oh, thanks for the Japanese lesson. I knew there was a reason I studied French in high school (though for the life of me, I cannot remember what it was).

Charlie, no worries about the Japanese lesson, I like to bring some educational content into The Corner every now and then
You should have a chat with jedwards about French, he is Canadian and by law they all have to be fluent in French don't they ?!?!?!?!
