Personally, I think the whole sig issue has gotten blown up. I respect having guidelines and would like to see some developed...but there is also the option to ignore them if you don't want to see them...so I'm not clear on what the issue is.

I believe its just what they *want*
they say they get complaints, but if you are on dialup, an *entire* page of text will load way faster than 20 lines of animated gifs. Those people won't benefit much from a *smaller* animated gif, they need to turn the whole thing off.
