It is alarmingly true at every turn these days. As a consumer AND as a business owner...I/we see it all the time. Customer service budgets have been cut to bare bones levels I even goaded a Comcast tier 3 CSR rep to admit(after talking/berating him on the phone for 45 minutes) to me as a company they have done away with ALL good will to the individual consumer!

It's easy for comcast or ameritech (or whoever your local bell is) to blow you off... it's not like you have many other choices.

I'd think most politicians would favor competition... more companies means more bids for their votes.
