I like both Rolex's shown, beautiful watch.. I don't really wear watches right now, but once I graduate, Rolex, Cartier, Tag will be something to consider..
I mostly need a watch because there are just some venues that it's not appropriate or tactful to use my cell phone as my watch as I have for years now.
I like Rolex and TAG not for their name, but for their design. Simple, elegant and tough watches.
Watches just don't rank THAT high on my priority list. I'd rather spend the money on fun stuff for my cheap little car and save my money for travelling...
Brant, I don't see why you keep comparing money spent to your car vs. a watch. Consider this also: your watch will be with you longer than your suspension! Also, your watch may have a higher chance of appreciation than your car. Cars will depreciate ya?
To me a watch isn't an investment...it's like a refrigerator. If I don't need one I don't buy one. If I need a small basic one I don't buy one with an ice maker. I buy what I need and a Rolex or Omega or TAG, as nice as they are, are more than I need.
I keep comparing it to my car because the reality is that my car is a higher priority in my life...and I'm not even willing to spend a ton of money on IT.
I'm not looking for an heirloom that'll be around for generations...just a watch that I like having on my wrist for a few years.
If I weren't digging myself out of massive debt I might drive a nicer car and be looking at a nicer watch...but I AM digging myself out of debt so I drive a cheap car and just want a solid performing watch. I'm SURE I can find an excellent quality watch in the $400 price range.
