There was a recent story... the NHL and Player Alumni are going to give some old timers a day with the cup... guys who won the cup in the 50s and 60s and never got a day with it (a pracitce that started in '94?).

It's about time. Those guys were real heroes who got shite upon. Not much money (most had summer jobs) and treated by crap by most of the teams after they retired.

Helluva game last night between London and Ottawa!
I've got a lot of respect for Danny Battachio when it come to the '67's goaltending... I had never heard of him until the Memorial Cup, but I'm sure his name will be out there for a while after the performance he's given these past few games.
Anyone know if he's been drafted yet? and by which team?

Glad you found us here Monkei. Love the hockey fans who are pulled into the Corner (probably reluctantly ) because of this thread.

Yes it was a helluva game. Loved it. Listened on line since I couldn't get in on TV. Funny as hell listening to London Ont radio in the kitchen of my Cali house.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. I think I'd rather be in Cali instead of London as well (even if it meant radio vs. tv). My buddy plays hockey in California actually, so he's got the best of both worlds I guess (not playing this year though )
