Wings look really good.

Honestly, I think this is an issue of style of play... Last year, the Ducks won largely because they'd rough the other teams up and kill the penalties. Nobody could compete with that. This year, the Wings are playing a puck possession game which the Pens haven't had to play against much (most of the better East teams are modified neutral zone traps) and their system can't counter against a team that always has the puck.

pretty much. it helps that datsyuk and zetterberg play even strength, penalty kill, and power play. i also don't think they're accustomed to such skill players out there in every situation

Other than Lidstrom, the Pens are more talented on a one for one basis. The Wings are a much more cohesive unit though.

If anyone but Zetterberg wins the Conn Smythe, I'd have to wonder what series the voters watched.

The party's over. The parade is done. And another season is behind us. It was a wonderful team effort by the Wings. So many players stepped up their physical game and it was clear they were not going to make the same mistakes as the year before. I couldn't have been any more proud to be a Wings fan than this year.

Thanks Wings for a wonderful year of hockey!

Bye Dom.

i nearly shat myself with 1.8 seconds to go

a 7th game would have been fun, but it was a relief that they got the win.

The Wings' core is pretty solid... do the wings have a replacement for Osgood (i.e. someone who can play 40 games, get 20-25 wins, and ensure Osgood shows up in the playoffs)? Jimmy Howard?

Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Rafalski... really good core.
