Joe Sakic signs 1-year deal with Colorado Avalanche for $5.75 million
This makes it the 18th year with the organization for Joe (only Steve Yzerman has been with 1 organization longer - 22 years with Wings)

Paris Hilton scores a hockey player?
Paris Hilton has been romantically linked to Canadian hockey hottie Jose Theodore.
The hotel heiress and the former Habs goalie (now with the Colorado Avalanche) were spotted holding hands and in a passionate embrace on Sunday (June 18) at an after party for the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto where Hilton was a presenter. According to an eyewitness the pair "were clearly into each other."
Just hours earlier while speaking to the media in the press room Hilton said she intended to stay single for at least a year. She expressed similar sentiments one week prior on 'Live with Regis and Kelly' (June 13): "I always have a boyfriend all the time, so I've never really got to know me and, like, have time for myself because I spend all my energy on the boyfriend. I'm a very strong woman. I don't need a man. I can be on my own."
Hopefully these words will help Theodore's girlfriend, Stephanie Cloutier, put her mind at ease. Cloutier, who was been involved with Theodore for eight years and gave birth to their first child together in March, is rumoured to have kicked him out after hearing of the alleged snoogling.

My picks:
Western Conference
San Jose(5) vs. Edmonton(8) (5 game series)
Anaheim(6) vs. Colorado(7) (6 game series)
Eastern Conference
Ottawa(1) vs. Buffalo(4) (7 game series)
Carolina(2) vs. New Jersey(3) (6 game series)
Edmonton's toughness will be matched by SJ, and SJ also has a lot of speed. Goaltending edge to Toskala. Anaheim/Colorado is pretty evenly matched; I think Colorado's balance is a bit better especially with Theodore coming around, and Anaheim won't be able to match Colorado in scoring. Ottawa/Buffalo are fairly similar; Ottawa is a bit better offensively but Buffalo's defense and goaltending are better. 2 months ago I would have picked Carolina over just about anyone, but NJ is playing a lot better right now, while Carolina has a lot of chinks in the armor. Plus NJ has Brodeur.

Canucks hired a new head coach a couple of days ago (I forget his name already). He was the head coach of their farm team (Manitoba Moose). He also used to be the Head Coach for Montreal Canadiens from 1997-2000.
