Who is his backup? Just trying to figure out who'll be doing the duty in the playoffs after Hasek gives up on the season after 25 games.
He joins another Red Wings Cup-winner, Chris Osgood, who was brought back as a reserve. Who know's maybe there's something left in the two old cups. If Manny hadn't choked last year, I'm sure he would be there instead.

I'd start Osgood.

This is Hasek's 3rd time as a Wing. The first time he left he retired. Then when he changed his mind a year later and returned he had a groin injury and sat out the rest of the season. Well, last year he repeated that, only not with the Wings. Do the Wings think he will last the season - no, they have as much as said so; but he's cheap at only $750k. I'm not sure Osgood is any better, since he's had injuries as well. It seems like #3 will be playing a lot.

John Davidson continues to try to turn around the Blues... signed Martin Rucinsky away from the Strangers today.

Nashville will be back in 2006-07!!!!

Was nice seeing ex-Caps head coach Ron Wilson taking part in the postgame handshake, and sharing a moment with ex-Caps defenseman Brendan Witt. Has it really been eight years since the run to the Finals? Come to think of it, the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals was the last time I saw a team I was rooting for win a playoff series.

No effing way does Big Lou trade Gomez. He is a prototypical player for the "new NHL" and is probably in the top 4 playmakers in all the league.
