No effing way does Big Lou trade Gomez. He is a prototypical player for the "new NHL" and is probably in the top 4 playmakers in all the league.
Damn! When does pre-season start??? I can't wait much longer!!!
How about training camp! When does that start??
You know, I took Junior Havoc to a baseball game Friday night.
I just don't get it! ....no ice, no body checks, no glass to pound on and only one guy at a time with a stick! I almost fell asleep! What gives!!

Played hockey last night... the guys on the ice before me were really good, so I stopped and watched for a while before I laced up. After watching for a minute I realized I was watching NHL guys do summer-camp drills. Scott Hannon, Brent Maclean and Shea Weber were all there. Man, those guys can really shoot the puck!!!
EDMONTON (CP) - The Oilers have added depth to their offence by signing Petr Sykora to a one-year contract.
Sykora scored 23 goals and assisted on 28 with Anaheim and the New York Rangers last season. It was the seventh consecutive season that the 29-year-old Czech scored 20 or more goals in the NHL. He was paid $3.1 million US. The value of his deal with the Oilers was not divulged by the club.
The six-foot, 190-pound forward finished 2005-2006 with a plus-minus rating of plus-6.
The Oilers are Sykora's fourth NHL team since joining the league in 1995-1996 with New Jersey. He was the Devils' first pick, 18th overall, in the 1995 entry draft.
