I'm looking them up as we speak. For the dates I need in LA, the cheapest is a Chevy Spark...but for $1/day more you can get a Mini.

...and realizing that the "similar" cars in the Mini category are the Versa and the Beetle.

 

I'm saying that I reserved full sized from Sixt which according to them is a VW Passat, Toyota Camry, or Buick Lacrosse. I have an upgrade coupon which could get me a Mercedes CLA, Audi A3, Volvo S60, or a BMW 228i.

 

I'm thinking that due to what seems to be high demand the upgrade won't be happening.

 

I'm saying that I use Priceline and a couple of other search engines to see what is cheapest in the market and then cross reference with the rental agencies site. I also check Costco travel and AAA to see what discounts they offer.

 

I'm saying that Sixt just happened to be the cheapest on the day that I reserved that is why I chose them.

 

I'm saying that since I initially reserved my car the price dropped by $8/day so I cancelled and made a new reservation.

 

I'm saying that now the daily rate is over double what I reserved at.

 

I'm trying to figure out what is going on in Seattle this weekend that caused the upswing in demand for rental cars.

 

I'm doubting that it is the Puyallup Fair.
