I'm wondering wtf happened to your motor.

Coming from someone who has gone through a motor as well, it's usually something we did rather than the actual motor design. These engines were truly built to last
I'm vehemently disagreeing with that last statement.

My motor was like every other 2001... it burned oil fast enough that I never really would have needed to change it, and had oil pressure issues for much of its life. The final straw was somewhat self-inflicted (debris into the oil pump). I could have rebuilt it, but it seemed easier to start with a later motor (2005 in my case) that had fixed most of the glaring design flaws.

Of course my 2005 is plenty of issues in its own right, and has already been rebuilt once to fix most of them (idle/misfire stuff).
I'm backing up WSB as we share the exact same problem

I'm thinking it's funny you mentioned that because a couple days ago I watched an episode of CSI with him

I'm adding the comically poor design of the TCT (which Honda refuses to acknowledge) to my list of grievances.

I'm also noting that I still think the S2000 is a great car and one of the best sports cars of the decade. But it's not some bulletproof wonder-car, especially not the 2000-2001 models. The 2003 at least fixed the POS plastic rear window, and the F22 fixed most of the F20s flaws (TCT aside), and any high strung engine is going to have some issues. And my F22 had 45k and had been in an accident, and who knows what sort of maintenance the original owner of that car had done...

But seriously... People drive cars 200k miles without doing jack squat to them all the time. The S2000 needs constant maintenance (oil, TCTs, valve adjustments, etc) to have a chance.

I'm noting that on a 10 minute lunch run, no less than 3 people pulled out or walked out in front of me without even a hint of looking in my direction.

I'm also noting I had the right of way in all those situations.
