I'm turning into a Luddite in my middle age, but I'm really leery of relying entirely on a single device for everything. Apple/Samsung/Google pay is cool, until it doesn't work because reasons, and then you're standing there without any means of paying. I guess too much time worrying about single points of failure scares me from going out of my way to have a single point of failure (most likely a dead battery) in buying things.
I'm reminded that CenturyLink has gone cashless starting with tomorrow's Sounders match, which means I will have to wait in line while everyone fumbles with their phones/cards rather than just walking up to a beer guy, giving him cash, and moving along. 40 second transactions vs 50 second transactions adds up when there's 30,000 people.
