I'm saying join the military, we have more acronyms than you can shake a stick at.

See next post for a sample.

I'm about to go to work. I work at CSG-9 (Commander Submarine Group Nine) where I am the section 3 CWO (Communictions Watch Officer.) As the CWO, I'm responsible for ensuring SSBN's (Submerged Ship Ballistic Nuclear) receive their SSIXS (Submarine Satellite Information Exchange System) broadcast. I'm also responsible for the smooth operation of the ISABPS (Intergrated Submarine Automated Broadcast Processing System.) that keys the VLF (Very Low Frequency) broadcast. In additon, I'm responsible for monitoring the NSSC (Naval Submarine Support Command) chat room for any problems subs may have and contacting the CDO (Command Duty Officer) if they do. I'm also responsible for our CMS (Comsec Material Security) which encodes and decodes both voice and data traffic. I will continue to do this until my EAOS. (End of Active Obligated Service.)

I'm saying the military is probably the world's foremost expert in acronyms.

Jason,

Please produce a POA&M outlining the steps for successful completion of TRE and ORSE. Two SSN's on their POM period are in need of a plan prior to REFTRA. In addition, the PCO for one of the boats is interested so please ensure it is 4.0.

I would do it except, as the CDO, the COS has me busy reviewing POD's for the stand-down period.

LT,
I will take your request for action and produce a draft. However, be advised the CSG-9 N6 DCOS is currently SIQ because of a sprained ankle he received during the fall PFA and will not be around to bottom line until the HM1 at medical clears him. I also have my hands tied drafting a MOA between CSS-3, the USS Columbia (SSN-771) and IMF regarding Columbia's POMCERT IAW CNO INST 1234.5. This is due NLT 0730 on 12 DEC 04 for a meeting at the CSP conference room for all CO's, XO's, DH's, LCPO's and LPO's involved. After the N6 DCOS smooths the final draft, I will have the lead YN at PSD put it on command letterhead.
