We had a house fire when I was in 2nd grade, horrible experience!

 

I'm working on scanning a shitload of old pictures, some over 100 years old....

 

I'm saying as a kid... it was exciting... all new stuff! It was very hard on my family though... the only things we had left were two 10 speeds and our car... that was it...

We didn't really lose any stuff, it was an electrical fire and the damage was from the smoke. So stinky, for years smoked food gaged me. Any smoke smell brought back the panic, auctually it still does.

I felt so guilty cause I caused it. I was playing with a piece of iron rebar and I stuck it in a hole in the side of our brick house, the hole happened to lead directly into the fuse box. All the wiring shorted and caught on fire, the basement burned and the whole house was smoked. It was really a painful time. We lived in a cheesy motel for a month while the house was repaired. I ate fire smoked bread the next day and cried.
