for mountain biking is Ti a better option than CF? I know my frame is partially CF, and from what I have been told, CF does a better job of absorbing shock than others (mainly on road bikes)
Ultimate weight reduction isn't my highest priority. Ti is plenty light and, like steel, quite nice at softening the edges of impacts.

I'm not looking for a pure mountain bike. Regardless, CF is a great material for a road or mountain bike. I just want Ti, because it behaves quite a bit like steel (which I love), but with added durability.

) I forget what it was called.. I rode on it the other day while we were drinking in his driveway..I think down the road I'd like to get a full CF bike with Ultegra components..... lightweight and a bit more forgiving than my bike..
but that's waaay down the road..I need to replace my DD first

time to make this decision has all but run out
