I'm thinking about getting back into bicycling once it warms up a bit... and wondering what Brant thinks in terms of mid priced road bikes (~$1000).

 

I'm thinking I'll sell you mine for about $850...

 

Seriously, find a frame that fits you well and go for components that are an Ultegra/105 mix...or full Ultegra if you can find it.

I'm a fan of a good steel frame, but they're kind of flexy. Look for the highest quality aluminum frame or splurge on a good titanium one. CF is cool and all, but I'm still skeptical about it as a frame material...mostly because I'm hard on my toys and it's a bit brittle for my tastes...
