I'm explaining that as of this morning, I thought the damage was limited to the window ($167 to replace), the dash trim plate ($133), and the head unit ($400 new value, but $160 to replace), totalling about $460 - or $210 more than my deductible. I have an old tape player that I can install and the dash wasn't a big deal, so $167 to fix the window for hte last month or 2 I own the car was better than the $250 plus a claim on my account.

However, after looking at it more, the damage to the interior is substantial. I think the guy was actually trying to steal the car, since he took the time to adjust the seat. All 4 interior pieces that make the dash are broke, the center heating duct is destroyed (how he did that is beyond me), the area around the ignition is tore up, etc. I'm going to see if the interior is enough to total the car out. KBB for the car is only $975 and NADA is $1175. I can easily see the interior + glass + radio being $800.
