I'm saying Ti can be shaped any way you want.

I'm also noting that Ti as a construction material sUx0r. If the application doesn't have a high-temp environment, why not use Al? One of the nifty things about Ti6AlV4 is that it's modulus of elasticity matches that of bone, making it an excellent choice for hip replacements, etc.
I'm noting that Aluminum's main drawback as a bike frame is the same as it is for a hockey stick - it tends to be very rigid and unforgiving. A good road bike frame needs to be very rigid in some places (bottom braket, chainstays) and forgiving in others to soften the ride a bit. Steel and Titanium are both very good at that - granted CF is better because you can control thicknesses and grain structure so much.

I'm suggesting the T-rex, Peugeot 20Cup, Aprilia Magnet, and MB F300 as alternatives.
I'm repeating this list in case Barney missed it.

I'm out of the bike loop...have not ridden seriously in years ...but adding my brother rides a ton in NYC and his new CF frame.

I'm noting that I still have a vintage Alan aluminum criterium bike. Complete with Edco sealed bearings & old school Campagnolo (Victory?) hardware.

I'm also noting I have a vintage bike lying around....a Raleigh aluminum framed (reynolds 503 If I remember correctly) with some nice Campy equipment on it collecting dust in moms garage.
