I heard this last night on the radio.

Steve Perry got 50% of the gross sales, from the first Journey tour without him, then 25% for the next one, 12.5% for the next one, 6.25% etc etc, and he gets a portion of the songs royalty rights.
And he gets 50% of the sale of the name Journey--market value, not what it is sold for. Market value is over $500 million.

Back when this song came out, my friends and I were set up playing (me on drums, my friends on bass and guitar) on his parents deck outside of town. He starts playing this song so we started playing along... a few minutes later someone taps me on the shoulder and it turns out to be a sherrifs deputy who had been driving all over trying to figure out where the source of the noise complaints were coming from. Their house was on the lake, and apparently they had been getting complaints from miles either direction lol. We did have a few boats out in front of the house that were seemingly enjoying the show though!

my 1st born also played Drums in HS and was in a lil band, we allowed them to play / practice in our then upstairs bonus room. ONLY in the afternoon ish times never late or too early

Apparently sound travels backwards as the guy that lived behind and over one house would call the 's
I had them at my door more than once

We spoke to the guy & ASKED what would be an ok time for the boys to play that wouldn't be a big issue?

We tried hard to comply to him and did.

ONE day oddly he walks over with a bottle of we then were fine after that

I to this day don't know WTH his problem was & or HOW it changed to his being ok butt what ever.

I miss those days honestly I loved having them ROCK my house
