Since August 2005 - December 31/06 --> 2 days of "vacation"
How that's not illegal is beyond me!

Screw that There are some things that are just wrong. Not getting vacation time is one of them.

I think after taking off last week, I would be out of vacation time..but uh.. NOPE... taking aug 21, 22nd (cinci tennis tournament), back to work on the 23rd, then off to vegas on the 24th..

i think part of it has to do with tenure..i thought by law you have to be given a certain amount of vacation time each year.. (maybe not? )

No, there are no laws dictating vacation time in the United States.

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does not require payment for time not worked, such as vacations, sick leave or federal or other holidays. These benefits are matters of agreement between an employer and an employee (or the employee's representative).

That's total I believe the deal here is you get at least one week paid time off/4% pay in lieu.
I can't believe the unions (or anyone else for that matter) there haven't successfully advocated for a change in law!
