George, you will find in many cars that it is quite difficult to change gear sometimes when the engine isn't running ..... I think this is to do with the fact that if the gear box is stationary, the teeth on the cogs don't necessarily line up correctly.

Once you start to drive using a manual box it will become second nature though ..... very easy after just a little practice ....

George, I don't even try. I just choose the S2000 with the auto tranny version...

I went for the semi auto tranny ..... much better than full auto and a lot easier than manual

another observation was that the clutch pedal had so much play (compared to brake and gas) that to fully engage it i had to sit at the tip of the seat. are cars usually like that?? it was my first time trying to shift so i don't really know much

i dunno if the play was used in the right context, but what i meant was when the clutch was stationary until the point to where it won't move anymore.

that is what "stationary" mean, George: it doesn't move.
